Carpool Policies

Parents/Guardian

  • All transportation must be prearranged before pickup time.

  • It will be the parent's responsibility to contact Little Astros Carpool if a pickup or drop off changes on the scheduled day. Please notify us ASAP to confirm if we can make the route adjustment.

  • Please have your child ready at the predetermined pickup time. This will ensure that the shuttle stays on schedule.

  • The driver will not leave until the child is safely inside the drop off location.

  • A safe arrive notification will be sent when child is dropped off at the predetermined location.

  • The driver will not leave the van unattended at any time with children on board.

  • The driver will not accept any itinerary changes upon arrival.

  • Shuttles are equipped with a mobile phone. This is to ensure we have direct communication with the driver.

Students

  • Students must be seated at all times while the shuttle is moving.

  • Students must wear seat belts when the van is moving.

  • Students are required to sit in a child booster seat according to their weight/height/age as required by Texas Department of Public Safety.

  • No fighting, arguing, or physical contact with other children or the driver.

  • Bullying other students is not tolerated.

  • No eating or drinking is allowed in the shuttle unless authorized by Little Astros Carpool.

  • Students will respect the driver and each other.

Vehicles

  • Shuttles will be equipped with hand sanitizer.

  • All shuttles are maintained, cleaned, washed and vacuumed on a weekly basis or sooner.

  • Shuttles are inspected by a state licensed mechanic on a regular basis.

  • Shuttles are checked daily to ensure the highest quality of safety and security.

  • Shuttles are equipped with seat belts, shoulder harnesses, GPS, first aid kits, fire extinguisher and booster seats.

Rates

  • Each seat requires a one-time $25 registation fee to reserve the seat

  • While each month varies in exact attendance days, pricing is based on approximate attendance weeks (i.e. August=3wks, September=4wks)

  • Fall semester '24 = 17 weeks ; Spring '25 semester = 19 weeks

  • Weekly Plan – priced at $65 a week ; semester totaling $1105

  • Monthly Plan - priced at $55 a week ; semester totaling $935

  • Semester Plan - priced at $45 a week ; semester totaling $765

  • 25% sibling discounts applies for each additional sibling that shares destination drop-off location

Payments

All payments must be received before services begin. You may choose to pay in advance weekly, monthly, or per semester to reserve your child’s seat.

  • Once registration information is submitted, payment request notifications will be sent to the requester

  • We accept payment via Venmo ACH credit/debit card transaction (2% transaction fee to process); or personal check for payment (no fee)

  • No fees will be refunded in the event of daily absences, sickness, or of a school closing.

  • If your student is out for a full week during a payment period, your account will be credited toward the following bi-weekly or monthly payment period.

  • If a payment has not been made as agreed, Little Astros Carpool reserves the right to cancel transportation service due to non payment.

Pick Up/Drop Off Weather Emergencies

  • Little Astros Carpool reserves the right to cancel service due to weather emergencies issued by Alvin ISD and County officials. We will make every attempt to provide transportation services as long as it is safe to do so.

Tardiness

  • Parents/Guardians should do their best to alert Little Astros Carpool their students planned absense

  • From time to time Little Astros Carpool may run late due to circumstances that are out of the driver's control, such as a traffic delay
